We enjoyed wandering the pedestrian streets, and loved the market place. On our first night it rained but one of the restaurants overlooking the market place had waterproof awnings to sit under, so our meal wasn't ruined. The market place came to life the following evening and was a hive of people eating out and having fun. We took the bus to the castle for just 1€, and explored for an afternoon. We were very fortunate to be in Xativa during their Corpus Christi fetivities, and on Sunday afternoon we spotted the giant statues resting in the art gallery of the former convent. While in there some local ladies were at pains to tell us all about them and show us videos and inform us of where they would be later in the day. We stayed later in Xativa than we had planned so that we could watch all of the fun. A lovely town, with beautiful buildings.

Xativa is a relatively small town with a couple of interesting museums and a castle (on top of the hill). The old city centre is typical Spanish with narrow streets and alleys. If you have the chance, climb the church tower: magnificent views! The newer part of town has supermarkets, shopping centre etc. There is a station with good connections to Valencia, making a day trip to Valencia easy (and without parking hassle).

Beautiful castle and walk, the Alhambra of Valencia!

Beautiful castle and walk, the Alhambra of Valencia! Great area for hikes, running and cycling. The town has a lot to offer, especially at Christmas time. The 'living' nativity scene is a must see.

Great location as a base for exploring surrounding area.

Great location as a base for exploring surrounding area. Only negative was it was difficult to find somewhere to eat in the evenings, not many restaurants, it was at least 21:00 before they opened and most where booked. Luckily our hotel had a wonderful restaurant, though a little expensive. A very friendly and lovely place to visit.

I was there for a wedding so only stayed 1 full day.

I was there for a wedding so only stayed 1 full day. What I saw though from walking around town made me want to explore the city and the area more. The castles (no time to visit but I saw them from afar), the old town square, nice churches, beautiful buildings and tiles. I might just have to fly back again.

Great location, that was central to accessing old town attractions and the amazing hilltop castle a 20 - 30 mins walk (rewarded by the view!). Our hosts were incredibly good at remaining in contact when needed and introducing us to the area and the apartment. Loved the old feel of the place, as it’s an older building (everything is in perfect working order) that suits its position in Xativa. Has everything we needed like kitchen and laundry and slept very well too. 100% would return again. Thank you both.

Very good hotel although one could rather categorise it as Bed&Breakfast. The room is splendid, modern and nicely decorated. The bath is integrated in the room in a special way. The shower is spacious and very comfortable. The bed is of very good quality. The hotel is located in a quiet area in the old centre of the medieval town nearby the castle. Our host was very friendly and speaks English very well. We stayed 2 nights but it feels like we should have stayed longer.

Probably the best terrace in Xativa, besides those at the Castle. Right above the Basilica, on the way to the castle. Cute apartment reorganised as B&B. Our room was much better than expected for the relatively little high season price we paid. Very easy check-in thanks to informal communication with the owner, we could enjoy rather flexible timeslots for check-in and check-out. Complementary coffee, tea and light breakfast. Extremely clean. Very happy with my choice.

This place is an absolute gem! Super rooms scattered in a lush garden that reminded us of being in Kenya . Situated on top of the hill with fantastic views over Xátiva. Despite a shortage of staff a very efficient operation with employees Wearing up to three different hats. If breakfast, which we did have, was an indicator for the quality of the restaurant food we recommend it as well. We’ll be back.

Fabulous little apartment in a great location between the train station and the castle. We found it really ease to navigate the city and the apartment was a real home from home. Bed was comfy, shower was powerful and warm and the bottled water in the fridge was greatly appreciated on arrival. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in Xativa.

The setting of this hotel is amazing. Views of the town (down hill) and the castle (uphill) were beautiful. The hotel grounds were also beautiful. The staff were eager to help. You have to walk to get to anything (i.e. town and castle) but the routes are scenic. We loved it.
