This was an amazing oasis! High up in the mountains away from the crowds and with the most amazing, beautiful owners, this place is a gem. Maria and Fernando are intelligent, gentle soles who are gracious and kind. Their place is beautifully furnished, the breakfasts are amazing and served on the veranda that overlooks their property and beyond. The pool is clean accessible and a treat at the end of a hot day. The winding road up to their place allows one to see the stunning views on the mountains and the river. We will most definitely return!

We were only passing through and not staying directly in the town. There are some good walks available in the area and also seems popular with cyclist. It is hilly and you need some level of fitness. Beautiful scenery and well worth seeing. We ate at the hotel which was tasty tradition Portuguese food

Beautiful part of Portugal, not far from Porto.
Beautiful part of Portugal, not far from Porto. Food and wine is great and the prices are very good, especially at the smaller venues. Riding the local train is a nice, easy and cheap way to travel in the area.
Amazing views & lovely house with everything we needed. Everyone had a fantastic holiday. The only decisions were whether to swim in the pool or the river which was surprisingly warm. We loved watching the river cruise boats go past too!
It is a remote and very peaceful location which was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely sandy beach below the house. Awoken to cockerels and sheep bells tinkling! A rural idyll. Shops & supermarkets in Cinfaes only 10 to 15 min drive away.
Wonderful quinta in Cinfaes. A little outside the village, so you definitely need a car, but the place fully compensates for that. The rooms we got were great, with good views, big and comfortable. Maybe the bathroom needs some renovation already, but great overall. But all that pales when compared to the breakfast they offer. Outstanding. Greatest treat we've ever had. Huge amount and great quality served with care in their charming garden. Don't miss it.
A lovely welcome from the girls on reception - We were offered a delicious glass of Port when we arrived. We had a free upgrade to a room with a spectacular view . The hotel was VERY quiet in February. Dinner - Delicious prawn starter - and for me followed by local Trout - would have been better if it had been cooked at the last minute --- so rather dry and horrid soggy vegetables --- we ate our prawns too slowly! Delicious bottle of wine
This is a new hotel that just opened this June. It is very cozy and has an amazing view. It feels like someone’s villa, especially when there is only 6 rooms available in total. Everything is brand new. Breakfast was delicious! The people are so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommending to stay! heads-up, the drive to the Quinta is steep, but we had Renault Clio and managed just fine :)
Amazing views of the river Douro from the pool, the restaurant and the river-facing rooms! The hotel is great to relax and disconnect from work. Breakfast is generous and always delivered on time. Viewing points and vineyards are at a driving distance. The hotel’s staff is very friendly, always willing to help out and make you feel comfortable.
This apartment and our hosts were simply sensational! The whole presentation of the apartment was first class and the view over Cinfaes was extraordinary. Our hosts ensured that we had everything we needed - including many generous treats. Their friendliness was remarkable. We look forward to returning.
The hotel's location was quite remote but with lovely views over the Douro River and valley. Also, a great view of the sunset from the terrace.
Breakfast was simple but good. The staff were very attentive.
The owner was extremely personable and made us feel special. Great attention to detail.
The property is very beautiful and elegant...A perfect place for a Romantic getaway...or adventure...like hiking and etc...Comfortable with everything you need...Optimal location for exploring Cinfaes and beyond...Isabel is an excellent host and communicator...My 2 days here was perfect...
The staff were incredibly attentive, nothing was too much bother. We felt really well looked after yet still had the privacy we wanted. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures don’t do it justice. The whole setting was so peaceful and exactly what we were after. Thank you!
The Douro Porto Antigo was an excellent property in a gorgeous setting. It was very clean and comfortable with an excellent staff (Ines checked us in and was very helpful with recommendations and directions) and a lovely dining room looking out on the river with good food and service.
Owner run. The most amazing views. Farm like atmosphere. So peaceful. Hosts were so kind. Kept on giving us fresh produce from their organic garden. Freshly picked cherries, port on arrival and wine made by their family. Cinfaes has some great restaurants too
Fantastic family run business. By far the best breakfast out of the hotels we stayed at in Douro Valley. Value for money was also the best out of all hotels. Very clean linen and plenty of towels. Offered a coffee on arrival which was a nice touch
This little house is located near Cinfães - a small town close to the Douro river. It has a little garden, a small pool and lovely owners and neighbours! we went there just to relax and to do nothing. Therefore it was perfect.
The hotel is new and very clean, nice design The view is simply amazing. The breakfast is OK. I would definitely recommend to add more to breakfast selections and coffee, maker, or tea kettle to the room.
Breakfast was great and the property is really nice. We were doing the Cinfães half-marathon and the staff were available to prepare breakfast early in the morning and allowed us to shower after the race.
Cinfães is a nice place, high up over the Rio Douro. José is a nice man, he's a French language teacher. He invited me to a glass of wine in the bar next door. How nice is that?
Great location on beautiful river bend. The best part of hotel is large deck with pool, bar and restaurant overlooking river. Rooms also have nice view of river. Staff is great.
