Situated next to the border with Portugal, Salamanca has unique architecture including Romanesque, Gothic, Moorish, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. The Old Cathedral dates from the 12th-13th centuries and joined together with the 16th-century New Cathedral.

Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit.
Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit. We stayed 3 night and were able to see everything we wanted without rushing.
It is a walkable city. We came by train and left by bus. We used the local bus only once, and that was to get to our apartment.
We were there during Easter weekend, so reservations are important. Great restaurants and food.

Salamanca has a very important role in the history of medieval philosophy, being one of the oldest continuously matriculated schools in the world, where Jesuits and Dominican friars debated about the universe and the rights of men, where Cervantes studied, and where inquisitors were honed. Well, a good background reading is a must rather than simply becoming a passive guest of this ancient city (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamanca).

Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism.
Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism. It has the right size to walk around, forgetting about cars and walking without getting too tired. The historical visits to monuments are numberless and the gastronomy very good. There are vegetarians options in many restaurants and several restaurantes with vegetarian tapas at very cheap prices.
One thing that we love is the manager! She was very nice and friendly and gave us a lot of recommendation on where to go and what to see in Salamanca and its surroundings. Was hard to give this hotel a bad review cause she was so nice to us even though my Spanish is limited. Other than that, the location of the pension is right across the station and a good 15 minute walk from the centro.
The hotel is very special, located in a historic convent. The room was cleaned superbly every day - the cleaning staff was amazing. The breakfast was great, very classy and it had the best quality food. The staff was attentive and learnt quickly what we wanted for each breakfast. The location is excellent, a short walk to any place in Salamanca! We had a memorable stay!
Everything this is a great hotel with superb service and facilities. Both rooms were adjacent with an interior private corridor. Free cava bottle with snacks provided at check in and a bottles of water and candies at check out. Free water, candies, tea, nespresso pods, etc…. Really closed to everything there’s to see in Salamanca within walking distance
It is very handy to break our journey when travelling through Spain - easy to get to from the motorway. Usually on street parking nearby, petrol station over the road to refuel before setting off again. And a short walk to the Roman bridge and the city for exploring and finding somewhere to eat. We had a lovely view from the balcony.
My husband and I loved our stay at Mirador del Poeta. The location is priceless. The apartment was amazing, and the amenities were great too. The aparthotel is new, and everything is greatly taken care of. The location at the Plaza Mayor is unbeatable, being within walking distance of everything you might want to explore in Salamanca.
I've stayed here several times now and I love it. I think it's my favourite hotel. The staff are very solicitous of your well-being and they can tell you all of the best places to visit/eat in Salamanca. My room was very comfortable. You are very close to several of Salamanca's most glorious cultural attractions.
This hotel is really central to all Salamanca has to offer - literally the other side of Plaza Mayor. The beds were very comfortable, and the AC worked great. The staff were very nice and helpful, and they let me leave my suitcases at the hotel after check out for several hours before my train left.
The communication was the best I have known anywhere . The facilities were clean and immaculate. The location could not be any better so close to all the old town amenities. Which in themselves are a must see We will definitely return here when travelling through Spain
The hotel is located a short walk from all the main sites in Salamanca and is easy to access by car. They have on site parking using a car elevator which was very convenient if you have a small car. Room was a good size, comfortable bed and wonderful shower.
Always stay here travelling through Spain must be 20 times so that says a lot perfect position for site seeing

Location of the hotel is very central and the view through the window is great. It's not noisy from the outside. The room was simple, but cosy. The hotel offers private paid parking posibility which was very easy to book. Great price.
The location was an absolute plus on this stay. Right in the center of Salamanca and with parking available nearby (in case you did not have a spot in the hotel parking). Staff in general was very helpful and welcoming.
The restaurant is Amazing. The food and wine are not to be missed. The location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to Salamanca. The staff were great. An excellent hotel experience.
The decor was really pretty and each room was different. Great tile in the baths. The shower had great pressure, best we've had in Spain. Location near everything we wanted to visit.
The best bed we ever had ! Large !
Great hotel in the city of Salamanca. Good breakfast but in basement, I would suggest to eat breakfast outside in the city.
Great spot for an overnight stay whilst traveling through Spain. Good value for money. Easy reach by foot to the city and nearby restaurants and cafes.
